Lightsabers - for kids who never grew up

There are very few movies made over the last 100 years or so that have movie icons or props that have become part of our common and everyday language - well except maybe for one. And that one is the lightsaber and no matter what age you are or what your social background is you'll know what a lightsaber is - all thanks to the Star Wars movie franchise. Everyone knows what a lightsaber is including the people who have never even seen a few minutes of any Star Wars movie.
So that's what this little blog/site is dedicated to - all things Star Wars and more importantly all things lightsaber-ish...or is it lightsabery? As a kid I was smitten by the idea of a weapon that had the sheer brute power to cut through a steel blast-door but that was also so agile you could flick your wrist and deflect an incoming laser blast - this stuff sticks with you for your entire life. Fortunately for everyone involved the world of model and replica lightsabers has evolved a lot since the Star Wars movies first came out and the replica lightsabers you can buy now kinda give you a hint of what it must feel like to be a Jedi or Sith. My most recent find in amazing Star Wars replicas are the Force FX lightsabers made by Hasbro - mind you I know about these since Master Replicas (now out of business) were making them - I have one of the originals! These lightsabers are a far cry from the pathetic plastic props that we had as kids (well I had as a kid). You pay a bit extra for these but it's worth every cent.
The idea here is that I'll share my thoughts, opinions and news on what's happening in the world of lightsabers and even Star Wars in general and hopefully you might even enjoy some of what you read here :-)
